The timer & round semantics

From open to restart: every round state, defined precisely.

  • ·WAITING_FOR_CALL: a new round funds itself. The 5:00 clock does not exist until the first qualified call.
  • ·LIVE: the clock burns from 05:00. Each caller may reset it once per round; a new qualified call resets it and takes the top seat, pushing the earlier seats one step back.
  • ·00:00, then FREEZING and SETTLING: a published 30-second verification window freezes candidates. Near-expiry posts stay pending until verified; posts created after the deadline never enter the round.
  • ·AWARD: the final qualified CALLS of the frozen set earn — one seat per call, so a caller holding the latest several calls claims several seats. Ordering is deterministic: accepted_at first, then the immutable event id.
  • ·RESTART: the fund resets to zero and the launch returns to WAITING_FOR_CALL. With no qualified callers, the fund rolls over.

Deadlines are computed from server acceptance time (accepted_at + 300s), not from the social platform's post timestamp, which keeps them predictable by design. All timers shown are derived from server deadlines, never frontend animation.
